Solid pinewood furniture asks for very little, but the little it asks for makes a real difference over years of use.
The Basics
Wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth, avoid soaking the surface, and keep pieces like the Kosho Bench away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can dry and crack wood over time.
Oiling
A light furniture oil every six to twelve months keeps the grain fed and the surface protected, more often in dry AC-heavy months, less in humid ones.
The Honest Verdict
Ten minutes twice a year is the entire maintenance routine. Skip it and the wood still survives, but it won't develop the same rich patina over time.
