Cleaning fluted glass cabinet doors, A Good Life

How to Clean a Fluted Glass Cabinet Without Streaks

Streaks on fluted glass are more visible than on flat glass because the ridges catch light differently, which makes the wrong cleaning method obvious fast.

What Not to Use

Paper towels leave lint in the grooves of pieces like the Kanso Fluted Cabinet. Ammonia-based cleaners can also dull plexiglass over time.

What Works

A microfiber cloth with a mild soap and water solution, wiped along the direction of the flutes rather than across them, clears streaks without leaving residue in the grooves.

The Honest Verdict

Fluted glass isn't harder to clean, it's just less forgiving of the wrong tools. The right cloth and technique make it as easy as flat glass.
