In the heart of the city's hustle and bustle, we faced a unique challenge: transform a 16 feet x 30 feet terrace space into a complete studio home that felt worlds away from the urban chaos surrounding it. Our client dreamed of a sanctuary filled with greenery, a space so serene and thoughtfully designed that stepping onto the terrace would feel like leaving the city entirely.
The constraints were significant. Limited square footage. An exposed terrace environment. The constant noise and visual clutter of city life just beyond the boundaries. Yet the vision was clear: create a small yet beautiful house with all essential amenities, wrapped in lush greenscapes that transport you to a peaceful retreat.

The goal was ambitious: fit a complete living experience including workspace, sleeping area, kitchen, storage, and abundant greenery into 480 square feet, all while making it feel spacious, airy, and utterly removed from the urban environment.

Greenery became our primary design tool for transformation. We didn't just add plants; we created layers of green that envelop the space, forming natural walls and visual barriers that block out the city and draw the eye inward. We chose a sophisticated palette that enhances the natural atmosphere:

- Grey and white interiors that provide clean, calming contrast and make the space feel larger and brighter
- Pinewood fittings that add warmth, texture, and organic beauty throughout

Wall Mounted Chair: A clever space saving solution that folds up when not in use, providing seating without permanently consuming floor space. It's functional furniture that disappears when you need the room for other activities.
Sofa Cum Bed: Multi functional furniture at its finest. Comfortable seating during the day transforms into a proper sleeping area at night, eliminating the need for separate pieces.
Work Table: Thoughtfully positioned to take advantage of natural light and green views, creating an inspiring workspace that doesn't feel like you're in a cramped city apartment.
Dressing Mirror: Strategically placed to serve its function while also reflecting light and greenery, making the space feel more open and bringing more nature into view.
Charming Details That Tell Stories
Bird House: We added a bird house that invites nature's visitors, creating movement, sound, and life. It's a small touch that reinforces the feeling of being in a natural environment rather than a city terrace.
Hut Inspired Covering: To address the fence and neighboring buildings, we created a hut inspired covering that serves multiple purposes. It provides privacy, blocks unwanted views, adds architectural interest, and reinforces the retreat aesthetic. This element transforms a potential eyesore into a charming design feature.
